Hello All!

Excited for the "Free Guerrilla Art Show"? We are too! So, here's the deal.

Participating artists will be putting work up Sunday June 14, 2009 at 9:30 am.

Anybody and everybody is encouraged and welcome to join us.

For obvious reasons we don't want this show to get botched so the location will be kept hush hush until the morning of. Once artwork is hung and ready to be seen by the public eye we encourage you to tell EVERYBODY you know. Make announcements on Facebook, Myspace, Flickr, Twitter, Craigslist, text message your entire address book and any other social networking site you are apart of where a lot of people will find out about it. Feel free (and we encourage you) to promote the show NOW letting your friends know to check your Facebook (or whatever) Sunday morning for the address and their chance to pick up some awesome art for free.

Sunday morning we will be meeting at The Claassen Gallery, located at 1118 Morro St. in the downtown SLO area and walking to the location. (That's the plan for now. The location might change at the last minute, but we will still use the gallery as our meeting point.) If you can't make it at 9:30am, please drop your piece off at the gallery beforehand. If you can make it, please bring your artwork and some hanging materials such as hammer, nails, duct tape, etc. Basically, whatever you want to use to hang your work. This isn't a gallery show. It's a fun public display of art.

Please keep in mind that this might be considered a form of vandalism. We are not technically going to damage any property, but you know how those stuffy non-artist types can be. All artwork on display will be free for the taking, but there is the chance that your art will be confiscated or thrown out. Of course, the idea is that a fan of your work can take your piece right off the wall and take it home. If you wish to be so bold as to want credit for your work, you might want to include your info on the back, such as your name, website address, etc. We leave that up to you.

As for the artwork. As long as you can hang it on a wall then it's a go. Painting, drawing, photography, posters, etc. Also, since this work is all available at no cost there is no need to break your account on framing and whatnot. Paintings on found cardboard hung with a nail through it are perfectly appropriate.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Neal at 805.234.7694.

Hope to see you all at 9:30am this Sunday!

Neal & Jeff
