Painting for Ian
15" x 24" approx. - mixed media on wood
I met Ian and his wife when they came to the "Grand Opening" show of my gallery at it's new location. There was an 11" x 14" painting I had done with two fish swimming towards a heart titled "Meet Me Halfway". Ian wanted to get it for he and his wife's upcoming anniversary, but he wanted something bigger than 11" x 14". We decided on a size that would work and then I did what you see here. Weeks later his wife came into the gallery and I asked her how she liked the painting. She liked it and said her husband did a good job. You see, a lot of hubbies mess up on anniversaries by either forgetting or just not doing anything "special". Anyway, she told me that one of the things she noticed was that it said "love" kind of subliminally right in the center. I laughed because I didn't even notice that myself. I had to get on my computer and find a photo of it to check it out. It was totally unintentional, but I'm glad it turned up in there.
