"Sneak peek #2" leans a bit towards the perverted/erotic side of the spectrum.




Ok, it doesn't quite "lean" on the perverted so much as it is smack dab in the middle of it.

This painting is acrylic on wood and measures 11.25" x 14.5". Right now the title is up for debate. It's either "Power U" or "Gold Member". Cast your vote.

Nic Sneak Peek #1

I will try to post at least one "sneak peek" a day until the opening. This is the first one and it's one of my personal favorites. It's called "Chicken-Fried Steak Burger" and is approximately 8.5" x 11", acrylic on wood.



Oh! Also, I made a "set" on flickr dedicated to this show. Check it out. Tongue And Teeth by Nic Rodriguez. This photo set will be updated quite a bit as the show develops and will eventually be the home to all things "Tongue And Teeth" related, like photos from opening night and available originals and prints, and other goodies.

Three pieces available at Alpha Cult

The show at Alpha Cult in Long Beach ends in a couple of days and I'm excited to say that three out of the six pieces of mine on display have sold. It would be pretty awesome if the other three sold before the show ends on Tuesday. The three that remain are two "kissy fish" paintings and a hand painted skateboard. If these paintings do not sell I am going to drill several holes through them, splatter sulfuric acid on them, light them on fire and toss them out the window of an eight story housing project. In other words, I will have them available in my gallery in SLO.

Live Painting Tomorrow at Coalition Board Shop

YO!

Nic and I were asked to do some live painting for the Grand Opening of the Coaltion Board Shop. If you're in SLO come by and say hi. We'll be painting from 4-8pm. Feel free to bring me a Kit-Kat. Nic doesn't like chocolate (crazy, huh?), so feel free to bring him some Sour Patch Kids.

Three new artsy things in the shop.

It's time for a little shop update. The first painting was finished just this morning. The second item is a drawing I made back in November 2004. I forgot all about it and recently found it and thought it would be a good idea to try selling it again.* This time for a lot less than what I asked the first time around. The third item is a painting on paper I finished about a week ago.

I'm not too sure how long I'll be making these messy paintings on paper. They've been fun, but painting on wood is more fun so I think I'll be going back to that.

Anyway, these three pieces are $20 each and if you click on the photo you'll be directed to my etsy shop where you can snatch one up. They are all originals, so when they're gone, they're gone for good. Enjoy!

* Ok, that's a lie. I had not forgotten about that drawing. I've tried time and time again to sell it and for some reason nobody seems to want to make it a part of their home. It's so sad for this little drawing. The poor thing has been crying himself to sleep for years now. His brothers and sisters, "Circus Act 001, 002, 003, 004, and 005**", have all found new homes and little 006 thinks nobody loves him.



** I actually can't find 004 or 005. However, It's not a lie about them finding new homes because they did. I just don't know where their new homes might be.
