Against The Grain

art show tonight

I apologize about late notice for the show tonight. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it for the opening, but it will be an awesome show nonetheless. The theme for the show is "wood". Paintings on wood or incorporating wood somehow. Of course, when left to interpret the word "wood" you can only assume what some of these artists will come up with. Pun intended. Pervy jokes aside here are the paintings I'll have on display.

Three pieces available at Alpha Cult

The show at Alpha Cult in Long Beach ends in a couple of days and I'm excited to say that three out of the six pieces of mine on display have sold. It would be pretty awesome if the other three sold before the show ends on Tuesday. The three that remain are two "kissy fish" paintings and a hand painted skateboard. If you are interested in purchasing any of these please contact Alpha Cult at (562) 432-9144 or visit their contact page for directions and/or email address.

"Swim To Me"
approx. 11" x 20", mixed media on wood
$250

"Oh Yes, I Love You"
approx. 7" x 13", mixed media on wood
$110

"I Just Want Him To Love Me"
approx. 8" x 32", mixed media on wood
$150

If these paintings do not sell I am going to drill several holes through them, splatter sulfuric acid on them, light them on fire and toss them out the window of an eight story housing project. In other words, I will have them available in my gallery in SLO.

( I think a couple of the titles on the Alpha Cult site got mixed up, but I think I have them correct here.)

Computer Addiction

I'll have a few paintings in a show at Alpha Cult in Long Beach, CA next week. I have these two pieces I need to finish tonight, but I'm so addicted to playing on the computer that I'm putting off "work" in exchange for updating the blog for all of my millions of readers. Yes, millions! Also, it's a lot easier to make an unfinished painting than it is to make a finished one. Go ahead, ask anybody. Actually, look no further. I'll prove it to you right here and now. Below are the two things I'm working on and it would be much easier to stop now and go lay in bed and read for an hour instead of finishing them.

Ok, the second one pictured is actually very close to being finished. So close, in fact, that I probably could just stop now and nobody except me would know that it's unfinished. Here it is in its current state.

Well, the show must go on, so I will disconnect the computer from the vein in my forearm and get back to "work".

Sweet dreams.
